Here is what is going on this week in math class:
In Algebra, we are working on compound inequalities. We have been working on word problems related to these, as well as determining the difference between "and" and "or" compound inequalities. We will having a quiz on Wednesday on sections 6.1-6.3. Topics include: solving and graphing inequalities, solving and graphing compound inequalities, word problems related to inequalities and compound inequalities. We will be reviewing in class on Tuesday. You will receive a review sheet on Tuesday night for homework, and I will post the answers on the blog for you. After your quiz on Wednesday, we will be working on graphing inequalities with 2 variables, x and y. This topic will be covered for the rest of the week!
In Pre-Algebra, we finished working on writing equations in slope intercept form when given a table, given a word problem, or when given a graph. This week, are working on writing linear equations in slope intercept form. We will write equations when given the slope and a point, or given two points that fall on the line. We will learn about the relationship between parallel lines, and will be having a quiz on all of these topics on Thursday. You will receive a review sheet on Wednesday night for homework, and I will post the answers on the blog for you.
