End of the Week!

Hi All!

In Green class, we continued to practice writing, graphing, and solving inequalities with one variable. We worked on some word problems, and remembered to flip the inequality symbol when multiplying or dividing by a negative number! For homework, complete the inequalities worksheet from class.

In Purple, Red, and Blue class, we took our first test on writing and solving equations. There is no homework tonight. Enjoy the night off! :)

Updates and Homework

Hi All!

In Green class, students finished their quizzes from yesterday. We discussed the word problem project that was handed out yesterday. The project is due on Tuesday of next week. Next, we took notes on the various distance word problems in Chapter 1. We were able to get through 3 out of 4. We will finish the last example tomorrow. For homework tonight, you will complete #1, 2, and 4 on the distance word problems worksheet.

In Purple, Red, and Blue class, we discussed how to translate words into mathematical expressions and equations. We used our white boards to practice, and then went on to writing and solving equations from word problems. We only got through the first example, so we will finish them tomorrow! For homework, complete Translate and Solve: 2 step equations #1-4. If you are feeling confident, you can try #5 and 6, although that is not required.

Stressed about your grade already?

I just wanted to write a quick post about your grades. Currently, you guys have a few homework assignments, and one graded classwork assignment. If you have not done one homework assignment, or did not do well on the first graded classwork assignment, then your grade probably isn't as great as you would like it to be. DO NOT STRESS! Because there are such a few grades in the gradebook, your grade appears lower. Once we get a few more grades into the gradebook, if you are still not happy with your grade, come and talk with me!

YAY! TGIF!

Hi All!

In Green class, we continued to discuss the word problems we were working on yesterday. We then started our discussion variables on both sides. We started with a word problem, so that you could see the real life application that these equations actually have. We started our notes on solving equations with variables on both sides, and will finish them up on Monday! You do not have homework this weekend! Enjoy!

Reminder/Update: Quiz is Wednesday!

In Purple, Red, and Blue class, we continued to use distributive property and combining like terms to solve multi-step equations. We finished our notes, and then worked on stations to separate all of the different types of equations we have been working on. We will continue these stations on Monday. There is no homework this weekend! Enjoy!

Reminder/Update: Quiz is Wednesday!

Homework

Hi All!

In Green class, we are working on translating words into equations. These are NOT easy, but we are working hard to figure them out. We completed our first check-in (graded classwork assignment)on solving multi-step equations. We spent some time going over homework from last night, and then started working on more word problems. For homework, spend 20 minutes on your word problems from class. Please do not spend 20 minutes working on the same problem, or staring at the same problem saying, "I do not get it!" Move on and attempt to do as many as you can in 20 minutes.

In Purple, Red, and Blue class, we are working on solving multi-step equations. We reviewed combining like terms and distributive property today. We completed our first graded classwork assignment on solving one and two step equations. For homework, complete the solving equations "RED" sheet.

Homework and Updates!

Hi All!

In Green class today, we began to solve real life problems involving distributive property and combining like terms. We worked in our groups on some of these challenging problems. For homework, complete Page 16-17 #29-36, 40, 41, 44

In Red, Blue, and Purple class today, we used inverse operations to solve 2-step equations. We created our notes, that will definitely help on the homework. The homework tonight is broken into 4 sections, just like our notes! Use the notes to help you! Homework is entitled, "Solving Equations Practice". Section 4 problem #4, the answer is a whole number, not a fraction! Sorry!
