Algebra--Quiz set up for tomorrow!

We didn't get a chance to go over the set up for the quiz tomorrow, so here it is!

The quiz is on sections 2.1-2.4 in your text book.
  • The properties of addition and multiplication that we reviewed (remember the problems where it is solved completely and you must write the property used to simplify each step)
  • Evaluating expressions with absolute value.
  • Finding the sum or difference of integer operation problems (fractions and decimals in here--NO CALCULATOR!)
  • Creating an input output table when given the function and the domain.
  • Determining whether the statement is true or false, and then giving a counterexample if it is false. (remember to check each possibility: a positive case, a negative case, and the 0 case to determine if the statement is true or false.  If it is not true for all 3 cases, then you know the statement is false!)
  • Matrix word problem (remember to label!)

Hope this helps!!

Hi All!

In Algebra today, we started Distributive Property and combining like terms.  We will be practicing this again after your quiz tomorrow!
Homework: Page 103-105 #20-68 even, 81+ 82, QUIZ TOMORROW! (See new post on how the quiz will be set up, etc.)

In Pre-Algebra today, we worked on converting terminal decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals.  We began to look at the patterns in repeating decimals when changing them to fractions.
Homework: Decimals and Fractions practice worksheet, QUIZ CORRECTIONS DUE WEDNESDAY ON PROPERTIES OF EXPONENTS QUIZ!
I handed out and went over exactly how quiz corrections were supposed to be done! Let me know if you need help!

I am around this week for extra help:
Monday until 2:45
Tuesday until 3

Hey All,
Welcome back!

Algebra students, we worked on the directly to the left rule to simplify exponential expressions during class today!
Homework: Page 12-13 #35-46, 55-60, 63-67

You may need a few equations for your homework tonight for the word problems.
Volume of a rectangular prism: L*W*H
Volume of a pyramid: 1/3*H*area of Base
Volume of cube: S*S*S

Hope these help!

Pre-Algebra students,  we worked on multiplication and division rules for exponents during class today.
Homework: Practice worksheet on rules for exponents
