Tuesday Update

Hi All!

In Green class, we graphed linear functions using discrete and continuous data. For homework, complete page 119 #38-44 all. You will need graph paper for 1 problems tonight. Reminder: Quiz changed to Tuesday of next week!

In Purple, Red, and Blue class, we determined the relationship between corresponding side lengths of similar figures and their perimeters and areas. For homework, complete 2.6 Practice #1-5. Reminder: Test on Transformations and Similar Figures on Tuesday of next week!

Start of the Week!

Hi All!

In Green class today, we finished up how to determine if a function is linear or non linear. We began to graph linear functions, and determined the difference between continuous functions and discrete functions. For homework, complete Page 117-119 #6-16 even, 29-36 all.

In Purple, Red, and Blue class today, we finished our discussion on finding the missing dimensions in similar figures. We began to look at the relationship between the corresponding side lengths in similar figures and their perimeters. We will continue that discussion tomorrow, too! For homework, if you have not finished creating ratios for the perimeters of the figures from class, which is up to the middle of the back side of our classwork today. Reminder, your test is scheduled for Tuesday of next week, 10/31.

Almost the Weekend!

In Green class, we determined the domain and range of continuous and discrete relations. We took notes on how to find the domain and range, and then worked on the Chrome Books on an activity on Desmos. For homework, complete the domain and range practice page.

In Purple, Red, and Blue class, we took notes on the requirements for similarity. We did a partner activity involving us pretending to be editors for a magazine and fitting a photo onto a page, using similar figures. For homework, complete 2.5 practice. Make sure you use your notes and write in complete sentences!

Answer Key--Review Sheet for Transformation Quiz Red, Blue, and Purple Classes

Beginning of the Week!

Hi All!

In Green class, I handed back your tests, and we talked about some of the common mistakes. Test corrections are due Monday of next week. We cleaned out our folders, and then started working on the cumulative review. It will count as a classwork grade, and the only homework you have is to finish the cumulative review from class.

In Purple, Red, and Blue class, we reviewed for our quiz tomorrow. Your homework is to finish the review sheet from class. Also, note that I uploaded some games and review help in my "Resources" section! Feel free to use those to review, or to get some extra help on topics for the quiz tomorrow. I will upload the answers to your review sheet in a few minutes!

Update for Thursday

Hi All!

In Green class, we reviewed for our test that is tomorrow. Your homework is to finish the review sheet that we started in class. I will post the answers at 3pm today.

In Purple, Red, and Blue class, we reviewed the three transformations we have learned so far: reflections, translations, and rotations. For homework, complete the rotations practice night 2 worksheet.

Update for the Week

Hi All!

On Tuesday:

Green Class: We solved absolute value inequalities. We learned how to solve, and we practiced. For homework, we completed 2.6 practice #1-9, skip #10.

Red, Blue, and Purple Class: We finished up our discussion on reflections in the coordinate plane. You took a check-in on reflections, and we started our discussion on rotations. For homework, you had to make sure that the table was complete on the Writing Rules for Rotations page.

On Wednesday:

Green Class, We took notes on Absolute Value inequalities, and then we practiced more by playing ZAP! For homework, complete Page 91 #3-17 odd, 28. Reminder that your test is Friday!

Red, Blue, and Purple Class: We continued our work with rotations in the coordinate plane. We developed the rule for each rotation, and practiced problems with partners around the room on our whiteboards. For homework, complete the rotations practice sheet #1-4. Make sure that you use a ruler, and label each new point with the prime symbol (')! Reminder that test corrections are due tomorrow!!

Almost the Weekend...

Hi All!

In Green class, we worked on writing and solving compound inequality word problems. We did a few in our notebooks for notes, before working together on some practice problems in class. Then, we completed a graded check-in on compound inequalities. For homework, complete Page 85 #3-12 all, and #14-20 even. Reminder that test corrections are due on Tuesday of next week!

In Purple, Red, and Blue class, we worked on reflecting figures across horizontal and vertical lines. We talked about how to do test corrections. For homework, complete the Reflections over Horizontal and Vertical Lines worksheet. Reminder that test corrections are due on Thursday of next week!

Mid-week Update

Hi All!

In Green class, we started working on writing and solving compound inequalities. We took notes on the difference between an "and" compound inequality and an "or" compound inequality. I passed back the quizzes that you took on Tuesday. For homework, complete #1-4 on the back side of the notes. Reminder that your word problem design for inequalities is due tomorrow, and your test corrections are due Tuesday of next week.

In Purple, Red, and Blue class, we finished up discussing translations. We completed practice problems around the room, and completed a check-in on translations to finish up our discussion. For homework, complete 2.2 Practice on Translations. Reminder that we will be discussing test corrections for the test you got handed back today, and they will be due on Thursday of next week!

Monday Updates and Algebra Answer Key for Quiz Review

Hi All!

In Green class, we worked on writing, solving, and graphing multi-step inequalities. We reviewed word problems, and practiced solving the special solutions when solving the inequalities. For homework, complete Page 80 # 1-16 all. Please look at the end of this post for the answers to your homework!

In Purple, Red, and Blue class, we learned how to identify and recognize the four different transformations that can happen to a shape. For homework, complete the Chapter 2 Fair Game Review, but remember we changed the directions on #1-6 to "Plot the points in the coordinate plane" and on the back side for #7-10, make sure you use a ruler and label each of the points A, B, C, etc.

Answer Key to Page 80 #1-16 (GREEN CLASS ONLY!):

1.) z - 6 > or equal to 11

2.) 12 < or equal to -1.5w + 4 3.) x < 0 4.) x > or equal to 8

5.) q < or equal to 6 GRAPH LOOKS LIKE: Closed circle on 6 and moving in the negative direction 6.) z <-2 GRAPH LOOKS LIKE: Open circle on -2, and then moving in the negative direction 7.) y > 1 GRAPH LOOKS LIKE: Open circle on 1, and then moving in the positive direction

8.) p > or equal to 6 GRAPH LOOKS LIKE: Closed circle on 6 and then moving in the positive direction

9.) w > -12 GRAPH LOOKS LIKE: Open circle on -12 and then moving in the positive direction

10.) x < -1/4 GRAPH LOOKS LIKE: Open circle on -1/4 and then moving in the negative direction 11.) y > or equal to 8

12.) all real numbers

13.) no solution

14.) PART A: s > or equal to 100, t > or equal to 5, u > or equal to 10. Don't forget to graph!
PART B: no; one of the requirements is to swim 100 yards, which is equal to 300 feet. If you only swim 250 feet, you do not meet this requirement.

15.) V + 100 < or equal to 700; V < or equal to 600 cubic inches of water 16.) PART A: 15w > or equal to 120; w > or equal to 8 weeks
PART B: the number of weeks is reduced; 65 + 15w > or equal to 120; w > or equal to 3 and 2/3 weeks.
