Thursday Update

Hi All!
Today in class, we reviewed place value. We played BINGO! to practice!

I handed back the Chapter 1 tests today that the students took on Tuesday. Overall, I was very impressed on how well they did! We will chat tomorrow about how to do test corrections!

For homework tonight, complete the place value review worksheet.

Hi All!

We cleaned out our math folder for the first time today! We organized for a few minutes, and then did the ALEKS program for the first time. You received your login information, and you began the first test, just to see where you are at mathematically!

Hi All!

We took our test today on Chapter 1, rates and ratios. I should have the scores in the gradebook by Friday! We will chat on Friday about how to do TEST CORRECTIONS! if you are not happy with your score!

Thursday Update

Hi All!

Today, we did a problem solving activity, and our first 3-Act Math Task! The students seemed to enjoy it, as it is visual and requires students to work in a group!

For homework, students will begin to work on reviewing for their quiz. Complete Glencoe Math Course 1 Chapter 1 Standardized Test Practice #1-9. Work must be shown, even though it is multiple choice! I recognize that #9 is cut off, so that one is not multiple choice, but the rest are! :)

Reminder: Test Tuesday on Chapter 1!

I am available after school on Monday for a review session from 2:00-2:45! Please let me know if your son or daughter will stay! You will need to pick your child up at 2:45, as there is no late bus on Monday!

Hi All!

Today, we practiced graphing ratio tables and equivalent ratios (sections 1.5 and 1.6). We completed a graded classwork assignment on graphing ratio tables.

For homework, complete lesson 6 extra practice worksheet

Reminder: Test is scheduled for Tuesday of next week on Chapter 1. Topics include: GCF, LCM, ratios, unit rates, ratio tables, graphing ratio tables, equivalent ratios, and problem-solving involving ratios and rates.

I will be after school on Monday of next week from 2-2:45 for a review session! Please plan to pick up your student by 2:45! There is no late bus on Monday, so you will need to pick your student up!

We took the first round of NWEA testing this morning, so our classes were shorter today!

Today in class, we did lesson 5, which is graphing ratio tables. For homework, complete Pages 51-52 #1-6.

If it will help you, you may tear out pages 47-50 in your books, so that you have your notes at home while you do your homework! Let's try this to see if it helps you complete your homework with less confusion!
