Here is the link for the project: GOOGLE DOC FOR RECIPE PROJECT

Remember, when you open the document, click "File" and then "Make a Copy".

You have to do this for both the first recipe, and the second recipe.

Rename the document -- Your First Name, Your Last Name, Recipe 1 for the first recipe and then same thing, only Recipe 2 for your second document!

Example name: April Eringis Recipe 1 and then April Eringis Recipe 2

Monday and Tuesday Update

Hi All

Yesterday, Monday, we worked on word problems involving division of fractions. For homework, you should have completed the worksheet #1-18 on division of fractions.

Today, we worked on using fraction diagrams to divide fractions. For homework, you have a timed assignment on ALEKS. You must be on for 25 minutes. You should all have your login information!


Reminder: Chapter 4 test is Friday. I will be available for extra help on Thursday until 3pm. You must have a ride at 3pm, or there is a late bus at 4.

Thursday Update

Today, we took a quiz on multiplying fractions and measurement conversions. The grades have been uploaded into gradebook! They were awesome, as a whole! Nice work!

Weekly Update and Answer Key for Review Sheet

Hi All!

This week has been crazy for me, so I apologize for not posting sooner!

This week, we have worked on section 4.5, conversion measurements. We started the week on Monday with using rice and containers for cups, pints, quarts and gallons to show the relationships between all of them! Today, we worked on the notes for 4.5 and practiced setting up unit ratios.

For homework, complete the review sheet to prepare for your quiz on Thursday. The review sheet will be checked on Thursday for a grade.

We will not have regular classes tomorrow, as it is a half day, and we will be watching "Freak the Mighty"! I know how excited everyone is to see the movie! :)

Hi All!

Today, you will take a benchmark pre-test to see how ready you are for Wednesday! These problems are identical to the ones you will see on Wednesday, with different numbers, but same setup and directions!

You will do this pre-test in class today, and then you can re-do/fix any problems at home that you would like as part of your review!

Wednesday Update

Hi All!

I made a mistake on my previous blog post! Due to the Columbus Day holiday, and us not having school on Monday, our quiz will be WEDNESDAY of next week, not Tuesday!

I will be available for a review session after school until 2:45 on Tuesday. There will be a late bus available for students for $1, or someone can pick up at 2:45. Hope to have a big turn out like last time! :)

Today in class, we worked on changing a decimal to a percent, and a percent to a decimal. For homework, complete Page 113 #1-13. If you are having trouble on #13, just attempt it! We will go over it tomorrow!

Today in class, we reviewed place value. We played BINGO! to practice!

I handed back the Chapter 1 tests today that the students took on Tuesday. Overall, I was very impressed on how well they did! We will chat tomorrow about how to do test corrections!

We cleaned out our math folder for the first time today! We organized for a few minutes, and then did the ALEKS program for the first time. You received your login information, and you began the first test, just to see where you are at mathematically!

Hi All!

Today, we did a problem solving activity, and our first 3-Act Math Task! The students seemed to enjoy it, as it is visual and requires students to work in a group!

For homework, students will begin to work on reviewing for their quiz. Complete Glencoe Math Course 1 Chapter 1 Standardized Test Practice #1-9. Work must be shown, even though it is multiple choice! I recognize that #9 is cut off, so that one is not multiple choice, but the rest are! :)

Reminder: Test Tuesday on Chapter 1!

I am available after school on Monday for a review session from 2:00-2:45! Please let me know if your son or daughter will stay! You will need to pick your child up at 2:45, as there is no late bus on Monday!

Today, we practiced graphing ratio tables and equivalent ratios (sections 1.5 and 1.6). We completed a graded classwork assignment on graphing ratio tables.

Reminder: Test is scheduled for Tuesday of next week on Chapter 1. Topics include: GCF, LCM, ratios, unit rates, ratio tables, graphing ratio tables, equivalent ratios, and problem-solving involving ratios and rates.
