Wednesday Update!
Hi All!
In period 1, we learned how to factor using the grouping method. For homework, complete the review sheet on factoring using GCF, grouping, and trinomials. You may find that 1 of the problems are not factorable! You may also see some funky things going on with your answers! Be ready to discuss tomorrow!!
In period 3 & 4, we reviewed for our volume test tomorrow. I will post the review sheet in a few minutes. For homework, finish your review sheet from class!
In period 5, we began our volume unit. We started with the volume of a cylinder. For homework, complete 8.1 Practice A #1-6.

Monday Update
Hi All!
In Period 1, we have been factoring using the greatest common factor. We learned how to factor trinomials today when the coefficient of x^2 is 1. For homework, complete 10.5 Practice B #1-15.
Test next Monday on Factoring!
In period 3 and 4, we practiced using the relationships of similar solids to calculate missing volume and surface areas. For homework, complete 8.4 Practice A.
Test Thursday on Volume and Surface Area
In period 5, we continued to determine whether tables, graphs, and maps create functions or not. We began a project in class, and your only homework is to finish the project.

Tuesday Update
Hi All!
Period 1: We took our quiz. Then, you started your notes on section 7.4. Please finish those for homework.
Period 3 & 4: We took our quiz. Then, you started more practice on composite figures and volume. Please continue to work on that practice sheet for 30 mins tonight.
Period 5: We finished up discussing "how many times larger" word problems. For homework, finish the review sheet for our quiz tomorrow. I posted the answer key this afternoon!

Monday Update
Hi All! Hope you enjoyed your weekend. Here is an update for my class for today.
In Period 1, we reviewed for our quiz tomorrow. The quiz is on Sections 7.1-7.3. For homework, finish the review sheet from class. I will post the answers to the review sheet by 3pm. Reminder: Quiz corrections for exponential quiz due tomorrow!
In Period 3 & 4, we took notes on the volume of a sphere. We also worked on composite figures and finding the volume. For homework, complete the review sheet. I will post the answers by 3pm. Quiz tomorrow.
In period 5, we discussed dividing scientific notation. For homework, finish the multiplying and dividing scientific notation worksheet. Quiz is on Wednesday.

Monday Update

We are finally back to a normal week, with no MCAS testing or any other interruptions!
In period 1 today, we took a test on Chapter 6, which is exponential functions and geometric sequences. After the test, you began taking notes on section 7.1. Please finish the notes for homework. Reminder: Quiz corrections for Exponential Quiz due on Friday!
In period 3 and 4 today, we began discussing the formula for a volume of a cylinder. For homework, complete the 8.1 practice worksheet.
In period 5, we learned about negative exponents and their property. For homework, complete the exponents property handwritten worksheet #1-20. Reminder: Quiz on Wednesday on exponent properties!

Wednesday Update

In Period 1, we began to really dive into exponential growth and decay. We learned the formulas for the growth and decay models, and practiced with word problems. For homework, complete Page 319-320 #13-18, 27-30. You will need a calculator. Make sure you show all work!
In Period 3 & 4, we finished up discussing scientific notation, and played ZAP! to prepare for our test on Friday. For homework, complete the review sheet. Remember, your test is Friday!
In Period 5, we reviewed linear systems of equations to prepare for our test that is tomorrow. For homework, finish the review sheet from class. I will post the review sheet answer key in a few minutes!

Tuesday Update
Hi All!
In Period 1, we wrote equations from graphs and tables of exponential functions. For homework, complete Page 320 #33-38, 41-48. For directions: #33-38, if the functions are exponentials please give me the equations for them. For #41-48, you can not give the percent rate, so ignore that part of the directions!
In period 3 and 4, we worked on scientific notation, and being able to multiply and divide scientific notation. For homework, complete 4.8 practice B, the entire sheet. If you need more space, use the back or a separate paper.
In period 5, we are reviewing for our linear systems of equations test, which is scheduled for Thursday of this week. For homework, complete the 2 graphs and the 3 substitution problems from class.
